Description:Teach undergraduate courses each semester at the Penn State Greater Allegheny campus in a variety of areas related to the Bachelor of Social Work degree program using traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday, or online classes as needed. Publish in refereed journals. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. ​

Qualifications: Earned MSW degree and earned doctorate in Social Work (DSW or PhD) or closely related field; at least two years post-BSW or post-MSW social work practice experience. Evidence of potential in research and publication is and a commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience required. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.

Description: Candidates must have a PhD in Criminology, Sociology, or related fields (PhD documentation by Fall 2021), a strong interest in undergraduate teaching and advising, an establish research agenda, an interest in shared governance, a commitment to service, and a dedication to diversity and social justice.  
​

Preferred qualifications include specializations in research and teaching about youth and social justice, the carceral state, restorative and transformative approaches to crime, pedagogies for social change, and research methods. Successful candidates will have a record of supporting first generation, Black and Latinx student populations with demonstrated effectiveness in helping students build quantitative, writing, oral communication and information literacy skills, and a commitment to inclusive teaching and community building.

Description: Applicants for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Criminology & Criminal Justice, or a related field with a substantive research focus on criminology and criminaljustice. Area of specialization is open, however the Criminology and Criminal Justice program is particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching includes a strong emphasis on racial and/or social justice. Applicants must demonstrate strong potential for and/or high achievement in securing extramural funding, as well as excellence in scholarship and teaching. Description: Purdue University Northwest’s Department of Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track professor position in Criminal Justice, to support the department’s new BA and BS in Criminal Justice programs. The position is to begin in August 2021. Rank is dependent upon experience and qualifications. The position requires a PhD in criminal justice, criminology, sociology, or a closely related discipline. A JD-only is insufficient for this position. ABDs with expected 2021 graduation dates will also be considered. Candidates must be able to perform high quality teaching, scholarship and service, and they must demonstrate commitment to promoting diversity and social justice, including anti-racism, in their roles as faculty member. 

The ideal candidate will have college teaching experience. The position includes teaching Introduction to the Criminal Justice System and preference will be given to applicants who can teach one or more of Introduction to Courts in the US, Criminal Law and Procedure, and International Criminal Justice. Also, significant experience in leadership and program development is a plus.

Description: The Criminology, Sociology, & Anthropology department at Millersville University welcomes applications for a tenure-track position with specialization in criminology and quantitative methodology, to begin August 2021. We are a teaching intensive institution and value community engagement, as well as scholarly contributions. The successful candidate should have a strong record in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in both face-to-face and online modalities. Candidates must effectively teach students both in assigned courses and outside-the-classroom settings (e.g., student research, service learning, etc.), advise students, and carry out other assigned professional responsibilities in support of student learning and success. The academic-year workload for full-time faculty is 24 workload hours and faculty must hold a minimum of five office hours per week on no fewer than three different days. Effectively teach Criminology courses such as: Introduction to Criminology, Policing and the Courts, Juvenile Delinquency, and/or Modern Corrections AND Quantitative Methods courses including but not limited to: Statistics and Research Methods. Actual assignments will depend upon department needs.

The successful candidate will serve as both a faculty member and the department chairperson. Faculty responsibilities include effectively teaching Criminal Justice courses at the baccalaureate and masters’ degree levels. Candidates with expertise in policing and law enforcement are preferred. The faculty member must be involved with students outside of classes by mentoring them on future educational and career plans. The faculty member will be expected to be involved in the university with curriculum development, program assessments, and engagement in institutional service, scholarship, and education initiatives. Department chair responsibilities include leading the faculty and students through departmental initiatives; managing financial and human capital resources; reviewing and refining curriculum; collaborating with full time and part time faculty to support ongoing development as educators; and recruiting and supporting students providing mentorship and career consultation. Note that department chairs receive a reduced teaching load. A PhD degree in Criminal Justice is preferred. A Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related discipline is required. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate effective teaching methods and a strong commitment to student success. Candidates with administrative experiences (in higher education or other settings) are particularly encouraged to apply.
