Student Paper CompetitionStudent paper awards recognize outstanding undergraduate and graduate student research. Eligibility is limited to enrolled undergraduate and graduate students at the time of the annual conference in September (though faculty may co-author).

Student Poster CompetitionUndergraduate, Master's, and PhD students are encouraged to participate in the poster competition at the annual conference. Entries are limited to students who are first author on the poster (though faculty may co-author).

Tom Castellano Award![]() The Tom Castellano Award honors sustained and outstanding service to the Midwestern Criminal Justice Association. The award was created to pay tribute to Dr. Castellano’s dedication to social justice, and particularly his role as an advocate for restorative justice in the criminal justice system. He was a strong supporter for service learning, and for his students to understand the realities and challenges of the criminal justice system. Click here for more information.

Practitioner AwardThe practitioner award recognizes innovative and excellent practitioners in the criminal justice system who make a positive impact on the criminal justice system, including innovative research or policy implementation, active engagement with legislation, involvement with program operations, or other service to the field.
